Clear your calendars, Samsung fans, because the date for the next Galaxy Unpacked event has been set.
Samsung's Galaxy Unpacked will take place on Wednesday, August 5, at 10:00 am ET/7:00 am PT. As expected, it'll be an online-only show due to the coronavirus pandemic, and so Samsung will be streaming the event for all to watch.
While Samsung isn't coming straight out and saying what it's got planned for the show, the company does appear to be teasing a new Galaxy Note device. The video announcing the event starts by showing the tip of an S Pen that gets covered in a bronze paint, which just so happens to be one of the colors that the Galaxy Note 20 is expected to come in.
The timing of the event also suggests that a new Galaxy Note will be shown at this event. Both the Galaxy Note 9 and Note 10 phones were announced in early August, and we're getting an early August event again this year.
When it comes to specs, rumors have said that the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra will get a 120Hz refresh rate display like the ones currently available on the Galaxy S20 series. A Snapdragon 865 processor — or maybe even a Snapdragon 865 Plus — is rumored for the Note 20 phones as well. This week, leaked images have shown that the Note 20 Ultra will also have a triple rear camera array that could include a 108MP main cam, 12MP ultra wide, and 13MP telephoto snapper with up to 50x zoom.
The rumor mill has also suggested that the Note 20 phones won't be the only new devices that Samsung shows as next month's event. We've heard that the new Galaxy Z Fold 2 could be announced there as well as a 5G version of the Galaxy Z Flip. There could be new flagship tablets in store, too.
