The folks at Samsung and T-mobile are sure proud of the AMOLED display and Cube interface of the Behold II. But the question is, are you impressed? Check out the hands-on demo here for yourself.
Ughh. TouchWiz plus "The Cube" is overkill personified. Neither of Samsung's customizations actually adds anything to the Android install on Behold 2. TouchWiz in this context basically just replaces Android's application drawer with Samsung's widget and app drawer, resulting in a more cluttered and confusing home screen - particularly if you're coming from virtually any other Android device in the...
Adriana is live at the Samsung/T-Mobile joint press conference in New York City. She just texted me to say that the phone has officially been announced as available November 18 for $229 on contract. This contradicts widespread reports of a $199 price point that hit the Web earlier this week.
So I texted her back saying, "Whoa, $229? Are you sure?" She hasn't replied. Probably because she doesn't have time to type out, "Yes, Noah, I'm sure. I... Technology: GSMAnnounced Carrier: T-MobileExpected: In time for the holidays (UPDATE: Now rumored to be available November 18th, 2009 check out the story @ droiddog)Behold II will feature a 3.2" AMOLED screen and run Samsung's TouchWiz user interface atop the Android OS, offering three home screens with drag and drop widget functionality along with 3G and WiFi data connectivity. The device will interface with Amazon's MP3 store, pack a 5 MP... Ok, this has to be the most frustrating thing in the industry. A vendor has a hot phone that everyone wants to see, so they tempt the media by putting it out on display, but without a battery so the user interface/screen/etc. can't be seen. That being said, I was able to snap a few quick shots of the Samsung Behold II before they pried it out of my grubby paws.As a recap, the device is expected to include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth 2.1, a...
No offense, T-Mo and Samsung, as you're not the only ones doing this - rather, you just caught the brunt of my frustration with cell phone carriers and manufacturers who play fast and loose with the term "launch." Everyone does it. But seriously, enough's enough.
Next time you launch a phone - I'm looking at YOU, all of you big companies - do us the favor of including price and availability info. If you're not ready to announce when and how... Well based on the selection you have the Motorola Cliq, which is geared more towards social networking integration. The Behold 2 however, my personal impression of it, it doesn't offer the same ease of use as the Cliq. Samsung added their "TouchWiz" interface to the Behold 2.
I'd reccommend reading some reviews on each to make a more educated purchase. Touch Pro 2 hands down, others you mentioned are not even close in this case u kno i was thinking it was since it has the great software, decent qwerty keyboard, and 3G.
but i heard that the battery is pretty bad...like G1 bad. so im not sure....yet. lol
so...i have t-mobile. i cant decide between the samsung behold 2, the bb 9700, mytouch, htc touchpro 2, and moto cliq.
i use everything (internet, txt, apps) but gps (dont care for that.)
i dont bother having an all touchscreen phone, but i prefer a physical qwerty keyboard.
price doesnt necessarily matter.
can u help me?
so hi there...i am having the same problem as you...i cant decide either...however between... so...i have t-mobile. i cant decide between the samsung behold 2, the bb 9700, mytouch, htc touchpro 2, and moto cliq.

man look It is hard to find the wifi control but also very easy to find you know that little arrow on the left on the homepage click that and then scroll down and look for an app in blue and white it says wifi on it. Boom there ya go. As for the cube interface I agree crappy but you don't have to use it... just don't click the cube. It only lags at first when you boot it up for the first time then its smooth sailing. I don't own this phone YET but is coming in the mail fully free but I tested it at a tmobile kiosk and it seemed fine to me actually fucking awesome. I don't think you truly gave this phone a fair chance. I agree samsung fucking sucks at making phones generally but this so far is their best phone yet. Where else are you going to find a better phone screen than samsung with their AMOLED screen?
