HTC confirms HD2’s US arrival (Q1 2010)

HTC confirms HD2’s US arrival (Q1 2010)

I am not a WinMo fan. If you’ve been reading PhoneDog for any period of time, you already know that. I’ve tried embracing this OS (which, for an Apple girl, isn’t an easy task), to no avail. But if there was ever a device that would make me give the Microsoft mobile platform another shot, the HD2 would be it.

I have to hand it to HTC — This highly anticipated follow-up to the Touch HD is one sexy handset. And today, the phone manufacturer (which is debuting the device for Europe and Taiwan) has officially confirmed that it’s arriving here early next year (Q1 2010), and that it will launch on a major carrier.

No confirmation yet on that other rumor, which predicts that the carrier in question will be T-Mobile. But the buzz on the Winmo-6.5-packin’, Sense UI-sportin’, Snapdragon phone landing on Magenta is pretty strong. If this turns out to be true, are you picking it up? (And if you’re not already on T-Mobile, would you switch to get this phone?) Inquiring minds want to know.

Getting a TMO Touch Pro 2 tomorrow, as I want 3G which my unlocked/jailbroken iPhone doesn't have (and I loooove my iPhone) and I am tired of modding my G1 to get Sense. Hopefully, Touch Flo 3D provides a good experience.

I would buy this in a heartbeat if it came to Sprint... I know WinMo gets a lot of flack but HTC does a good job correcting its shortcomings. Anyone who followed the first HD knows it was a good phone the first time around.

I have used winmo from the beginning and also have Android (G1) and an iPhone. I left winmo due to lack of capacitive screens and dated UI. With the HD2, I'm willing to give it a chance. My next phone will either be the Sholes, HD2, or a iPhone 3GS. I have been on T-Mobile for 8+ years and they have great voice service. 3G has taken a while, but my area is bathed in it.

Snapdragon... awesome.
Landing on T-mo.... indifferent.
Using WinMo.... no thank you.

Just give Snapdragon with a Android phone, then I'll be happy.

I like this this phone but won't be getting it for various reasons. Heck I would already hae it by know. (ScreenName). I like the style of the Original HD and well come spring there will be Better looking and smaller snapdragon phones out on the market. And if they aren't WinMo well they're gonna be Andriod phones. I'd like to make the switch to android with Snapdragon and a phone nicer than the original HERO.

while i'm not a huge winmo fan this phone is tempting me. wouldn't go the early adoption route; would definitely have to have some hands on time w/ it before taking the plunge. that and i'm waiting to see what other goodies might be coming our way for the holiday season ;) oh, and fwiw, i've never had anything other than excellent voice service w/ tmo, and i yak a *lot*.

Yes I want this phone, even on TMO.
But please figure out how to get Android, and the HTC sense ui to run on it, or forget about it.

i had tmobile and had to switch,i have verizon because of coverage in the area and its sooo freakin expensive and i dnt like how they restrict certain things from phones. i like gsm phones better. If this phone comes to tmobile and the sony ericsson xperia x10 is compatible I would definately switch back. I had no problems with tmobile and those are two amazing phones.

If it's Tmobile then forget it, they have the absolute crappiest service out of the top 4 and I don't know anyone who has them who is happy with their voice service. The only people I know that even half way like them are all sidekick users and just text. I really hope this device comes to sprint, they would gain so much by having it, a great phone with their solid service and great pricing would be awesome.

HMM Choices Choices..I was thinking of Holding out for the Sony Experia X10, but I might reconsider for this phone. I believe Windows Mobile with a faster processor(1ghz) and More ram(488mb) would probably be very fast, eliminating the LAG factors that are plagued by it from current devices. It all comes Down to ANDROID OS vs. WINDOWS MOBILE OS...WHICH holds the winning future. My Bets are on Android But Microsoft being the dominating company that they are might still have a few Tricks up there Sleeves with Windows Mobile 7....This will be a Tough Tough Choice..!!grrr
