Leaked pics of DROID Eris

None of the following pics, leaked courtesy of one of BoyGenius Report’s “connects,” shows the DROID Eris actually powered on, so take these as unofficial unboxing photos. Even so, it’s a good look at the form factor some of you will be holding soon.

With a rumored price tag (at $99) that beats Papa Droid by about a C-note, the unboxer adds that its slimmer and lighter than the Hero, “feels much better in the hand” and, aside from Papa itself, is generally the best Android handset he’s used yet. Take that with a grain of salt, since those are mostly subjective impressions, and look at the pretty pictures instead.

The phone looks very nice. For 100$, what else can you get that could beat it. I am not a big fan of not flash, but I am not getting this so who am I to complain. Although I would say the Droid is better, I am curious to see this phone go up against the Droid even though I'm sure the Droid would win.

The design of it looks nicer than the Sprint Hero but it doesn't say WOW! Not as much as the REAL HERO or the Moto Droid.

Nice for Verizon customers though.

This looks like a pretty nice phone... especially if its coming to Verizon. Although it is already looking better than the Droid, of the bat I can already see one major advantage of the Droid..... FLASH. My past 3 phones have had no flash and I think it's time to change that =)

we got them in today at my best buy and the area with the track ball and send/end keys is slanted away from the user. almost opposite of the g1/hero.

not for me but other than that it felt great in my hands.

Is it me, or does anyone else think the Eris looks better than the Droid? Can't wait to try one out in person on Friday.

I agree with you, based on looks alone, the Eris wins.
