Stay plugged in with Samsung this 4th of July
Samsung Mobile recently added 22 new charging stations at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) to help phone junkies stay juiced up while traveling this week.
I am personally grateful for the free Samsung Mobile Charging Station service, which I coincidentally took advantage of yesterday at one of the 51 charging stations in Los Angeles at LAX.
In addition to MSP, power thirsty and travelers desperate for a little battery boost can take advantage of Samsung’s generosity at the following airports: JFK, LAX, LaGuardia, Orlando International and of course, Dallas/Fort Worth.
Shiny new and sealed in its fancy box, it's a phone Noah can truly get geeked out about. Samsung's Omnia i900 is Windows Mobile smartphone with Sammy's TouchWiz UI. And oh yeah, it's got a full touchscreen, optical mouse, WiFi, HSDPA, 5MP Camera, GPS, and Divx certification to boot. By popular demand, three of Verizon's VCAST messaging phones go head to head. Noah takes a look at the LG Voyager, Samsung Glyde, and LG EnV2. Part two focuses on features and functionality. And Dan Patrick, check your email, man. I've got an offer for you. By popular demand, three of Verizon's VCAST messaging phones go head to head. Noah takes a look at the LG Voyager, Samsung Glyde, and LG EnV2. Part one focuses on form factor. And Dan Patrick, check your email, man. Noah's got an offer for you. Hands-on with Samsung's Touch-Wiz wunderkind, the Omnia. WinMo, TouchWiz, 5MP Camera, HSDPA and WiFi. Boom! I apologize now - I didn't have my usual camera for this and the video quality isn't great, especially on close-ups. Hands-on with Sammy's new imaging beast, the Innov8. 8MP Camera with Autofocus and Flash. Symbian S60 smartphone platform. 16GB of storage. WiFi, GPS, and (European) 3G. Total beast. Noah puts Instinct and iPhone 3G head-to-head in a Web and speed battle. First is a raw download speed test, and then a few Web page load tests. Who won? Watch the video and find out ... This is pretty cool. Samsung apparently reached out to Technivator to make a staged unboxing video for their new Omnia smartphone. And Technivator delivered. This is pretty sweet - even if I did just use the phrase "staged unboxing video" (what kind of world is this?). Nice work, Technivator. And tip o' the hat to you, Eric, if you were involved in this: Q. Noah, I was extremmely close to buying the iPhone until I saw the Samsung Omnia in your video. looks tight. how cool is it and is it up to par with the beast made by Apple?
A. I've only had a little bit of hands-on time with Omnia but it definitely looks great. Omnia's a Windows Mobile device, so it should be somewhat similar to the HTC Touch Diamond in that you've got Windows Mobile 6 running underneath with a nicer layer of user... Cindy Allen of Kansas won week #10 of the Phonedog Days of Summer Giveaway. She won a brand new Samsung Access courtesy of our friends at Samsung.
How does it feel to win Cindy...?
"Hi Tom, What exciting news! Perfect timing for the great news on winning the phone, I've had a very hard and stressful 10 days and just found time to check my email. Needed that smile....thanks so much!
TmoNews seems to think Samsung's Tocco T919 is headed to T-Mobile USA. If so, it would certainly qualify as HOT in my book. Full touchscreen with Samsung's TouchWiz UI, 3G, 5MP Camera with flash, GPS and voice command. Hot enough for you? Hot enough for me to give it a go head-to-head against my unlocked iPhone.
We could see this before the end of the year. We could see a full-on Samsung touchscreen explosion, too,... At long last Sprint's given the go ahead to its vendors to unleash a slew of application updates upon Instinct owners. A post on Instinct Insight details the release process, and makes it clear that the actual app updates are coming from the third-party software makers and not directly from Sprint. Sprint basically opened up the floodgates here and its up to the vendors themselves to decide what to release, when, and how (or so says... Q. Noah, you have very informative videos and think that you are great at your job. I have a question about Sprint's Samsung Instinct. I am fairly efficient with a QWERTY keypad, but I am so much faster on a T9 layout. Is the Samsung Instinct capable of a T9 text entry? I noticed in your YouTube video "Sprint Samsung Instinct vs LG Vu vs iPhone - Long Version " that when you entered the number to text (right past the 10:00 mark), the numbers had... dont get either!
GET THE GLYDE!!!!!! i just got the glyde a few weeks ago and this is my first Samsung brand cell phone. I have had 1 motorolla[a wayyyyy long time ago], the rest up to this point have been LG's. it seems like i have had a bunch of problems with the LG's but this phone seems to be very reliable right now... we'll see! Is the SamSung Instinct compatable with spiralfrog?? my past two (at least) phones and the new one that I should be getting in a week, have been Samsung and for a reason: my experience with Samsung in general (not just phones, but tv's and other electronics) is that they build well. I've had NO problems with structure (ie.. hinges on the flip-phones), albeit, my phones have been in the higher range so I can't speak for the 'budget phones.' Personally, i would go for the LG Dare. Hands Down.
The camera isn't a big deal, but that is just another thing that makes it better.
The screen might be a bit smaller, but the is really crisp and clear on the Dare. I don't like the Instinct as much because it has a kind of metalic look to it. If i weren't in Canada, i would buy the Dare!!! I like both of these phones from the reviews on this site. Is either a clear cut better phone then the other? The only advantage I have seen is the better camera on the Dare, but the camera is not that important to me. I have to pick one of the two......which would you pick and why? [H] Turn the phone off then on again [:$] I have had a number of Samsung phones over the years and they've by far been my favorites. Have never had a problem with the flip hinges breaking but have had that happen a lot with Sanyo. My Samsungs have been practically unstoppable. Two worked well past the standard cell phone lifespan and weree lost or stolen before they had any problems (after years of continual use). Another I got used from a friend to replace a broken Sanyo. Got it well... I'm having a problem accesing my voicemail it says Please try again after Power Recycle. how do i do this power recycle? can anyone help me? what is power recycle????? Im guessing that your really not into the whole buisness aspect of the blackberry, but im just guessing.
That is one of the main aspects of the Blackberry, it has always been know as a business phone, and that is how i will always look at them. If your just into texting and having fun go for the Instinct.
