I picked up the Eric yesterday, put it on the charger last night, pulled it off at 5:30AM this morning....at 11:45AM the battery indicator showed yellow. Only 6 hours and the battery was almost dead. Pretty horrible, moderate use...a few emails, texts and a few calls. What a WASTE!

i would love the Hero or Eris (But as I am Canadian) ..Rogers doesn't carry it. I recieved the HTC Magic 4 days ago, a beautiful piece of craftsmanship.. Until I tried to make a call - Fail. The call quality and volume is unbearable, I had to tell the rogers representitive to hold on a few minutes as I crossed the street and found a quiet area, and even then (with volume jacked) it was a horrible experience. I am returning it asap and sticking with what I know - Blackberry, never lets me down.

Now if anyone knows if Rogers will get either of these (depening on banding) and if the call(hello phone here?) quality is decent, i'd reconsider. But Htc while it had be dazzled.. kinda failed on second base, so I dumped the Magic, Lol.

I have a question about the cupcake version of the Eris.. will I lose the 7 panels to the 3 that Droid has and will the multi-touch still work if 2.0 Eclair comes out for the Eris.

I am a verizon customer and i think if u are paying 139.99 for the best plan they have u should able to get a early ungrade. where sprint has a plan where u pay 99.99 for everthing, so tell me whats goin on?

Compared to the Sprint Hero, the Eris is slimmer, has a proximity sensor, less gaudy look, and runs on Verizon. Verizon has better 3G coverage than Sprint. You cannot force roaming on Verizon when on Sprint Hero like you can when using WinMo... so, it's a big deal. And it's $99 vs $179. However, I'm too cheap to spend $90/month versus $70 on Sprint. So, i'll be staying with Sprint Hero.

I am a Hero owner. So I actually like the Eris. I believe they are the same exact phone. No difference at all. Once you put the Eris to everyday use it will have the same problem as the Hero. Noah, we would love to see a dogfight. Hero vs Eris. HTC sence jams! I'm not to excited about the Droid. I think its crazy that people are going to spend more money on a Verizon plan for the same phone. Bring the dogs out Noah!

I was able to spend some time with both the Droid and Eris today. I'm getting the Eris since the Sense UI is what really sets the two apart. I can live with the slightly smaller screen to get the benefit of Sense.

HTC is currently working on updating Sense to work with 2.0 and both the Eris and Hero (already confirmed by HTC) will be getting the 2.0 upgrade when Sense update is complete.

Having spent time with a friend's Hero, I can say that the Eris is a bit faster with a more vibrant screen. Overall the Eris is better than the Hero.

The HTC Hero and Droid Eris are the same thing in term of processors so I don't know how it could possibly be faster except for the fact the Hero is a little older than the Eris. Sprint's HTC Hero wins me over because even if it broke and I wanted some newer HTC I wouldn't have to pay 350 ETF from Verizon. Verizon is a screw job.

i agree that it is. i just got the eris and its very faster abd it never laggs. Verizon is expensive but if u break ur fone verizon replaces it 4 free.

Sprint? Been there, done that. No signal in my gameroom and my kids got no signal at the high school...and I'm 10 minutes outside of Pittsburgh.

I'll pay a premium to get a good signal.
